After a bright start in Division 1 of the New Forest League, winning three of their first four matches, the Marauders faltered badly and three defeats in the next four matches saw our vastly experienced team slip to seventh place.  After much soul searching the team – with Tony Giordano, Mick and Pat Roberts, Clifton Gonsalves, Leo Black, Mario Annicchiarico and captain Peter Aldersey as virtually ever presents, ably backed up on occasion by Ed Walker and Brett Rodwell – rediscovered their form and have now won their last three matches to lie second in the table.

This week saw them take on a very strong Flights Falcons team and demolish them 5-0.  No-one on either side would have forecast such a one sided outcome.  Newcomer to the team Brett Rodwell, playing in place of the  vacationing Leo Black, handled some pressure moments extremely well with some great shots. But all in all it was a  performance to savour from the whole team, and gives us quiet confidence for the second half of the season
