Sam Rattue from Christchurch became the Club’s first Junior trophy winner when he took the B prize at the Southern Counties Pétanque Association Junior Championship held at Hayling Island on 8th September 2018.  Sam, who celebrated his fourteenth birthday earlier in the week, is shown here with SCPA President Glenn Floyd.

Sam was only introduced to the sport through the Club’s Petanque in the Park initiative during the school holidays.  He was invited to the championship by regional coach Kath Knight who commented that Sam ‘had some great shots and could go far’.  We second that – well done, Sam!
