In a weather curtailed Drawn Doubles the winners were Alex Read & Sean Smith who beat Perry Ellis & Derrick Elsmore 11-10 in the final. The losing semi-finalists were Roger Deas & Debra Harman and David Shires & Ian Huntley. The losing quarter and semi finalists chose to bow to the weather and not play further – very sensible!
All members who played are to be congratulated in playing in what became atrocious conditions, especially in the latter stages. Especial thanks to the brave souls who stayed on to watch the Final and help Boyd clear the terrain – Brian, you chose the correct tournament to be unwell!!.
PS – The finalists were given the choice of finding a comparatively dry part of the terrain to play or a ten yard swim along “the channel”!!
