The Club’s Triples Championship took place at the weekend, in what was fine Autumn weather and the 10 teams enjoyed their day. Two leagues of 5 were played (all play all) and the top two in each league went forward to the semi-finals. The eventual winners were Stuart Brown, Gilles Martin and Ray Stanton (who only reached the semis through a count back), defeating previously undefeated JP Elena, Sue Godwin and Mark Rattue by 11 – 8. The beaten semi-finalists were Perry Ellis, Derrick Elsmore and Beryl Grindrod alongside Peter Aldersey, Clifton Gonsalves and Mick Roberts. Paula Fauvel, Claire Rickman and Keith Summers beat Sean Smith, Vittorio and Steve White 13 – 9 in the 5th place play off.
